Job Summary: We are seeking an Epileptologist with an interest in MEG (Magnetoencephalography). Work with an experienced, highly skilled, and comprehensive team of neurological specialists in BNI’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at the Barrow Neurological Institute/Common Spirit dba St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. We provide comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge care in one of the largest dedicated Epilepsy programs nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a high volume, diverse, and medically complex adult patient population, a phenomenal multidisciplinary team (5 epileptologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists, nurse practitioners and nurses, and neurodiagnostic technologists), and participate in innovative patient care and clinical research. BNI is accredited as a Level 4 Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. Our neurophysiology resources include a 12-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, a busy long term intraoperative monitoring program, continuous EEG monitoring in our 64-bed Neuro ICU, a MEG unit, and an active epilepsy surgery program.
BNI is a founding member of the Epilepsy Learning Healthcare System, a multicenter network focused on improving care and outcomes for adult patients with epilepsy. Teaching responsibilities will include instruction of medical students, neurological Residents, rotating Fellows, nurses and advanced practice providers. Job Specifications: Applicants must have an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O., and be Board certified/Board eligible in Neurology by ABPN and have successfully completed Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship program and/or be certified in Epilepsy or Neurophysiology by the ABPN. Experience with Magnetoencephalography preferred. Ability to obtain a State of Arizona medical license at time of employment. Duties include care of complex adult epilepsy patients, EEG and video-EEG interpretation, and intraoperative monitoring. Areas of expertise sought in clinical drug and device trials, epilepsy surgery, quality improvement, critical care EEG, and magnetoencephalography.
